Plan Your Outboard 2012 Trip
Yee-haw!!! Dust off that snowboard and get ready to saddle up because OutBoard 2012 is returning to Steamboat Springs March 27th through April 1st 2012 for our annual Gay and Lesbian Snowboard Week!
Join us for 5 days of incredible snowboarding in the original “Champagne Powder” on one of North America’s largest resorts boasting nearly 3000 acres of terrain over 6 peaks. Along with some fabulous riding, we will also be enjoying daily “Kickstart” breakfasts, group lunches at the Thunderhead Lodge, Aprés events at the Steamboat Grand’s giant hot tubs, private dinners in town and on the mountain, and of course the OutBoard closing party with a guest DJ.
OutBoad.org is the only place you can take advantage of our specially negotiated discounted rates on meals, events, lodging, lift tickets, lessons, rentals, and transportation. Lodging starts at just $180.00/night inclusive of taxes and fees and the OutBoard 2012 full event package is available for $295.00. It’s no wonder that Trip Out Gay Travel has named OutBoard’s event the “the most laid back” and “most affordable” of the gay ski and snowboard weeks.
About Steamboat Springs
OutBoard 2012 will be OutBoard's 4th visit to Steamboat Springs to enjoy the town's western hospitality and the resorts incredible snow and terrain. Nestled in the Yampa River Valley, Steamboat Springs is far enough away from the hustle and bustle of I-70 to feel remote, but not so far away as to feel isolated. The town of Steamboat Springs has retained much of its original old west charm while infusing itself with the modern conveniences and dining options you'd come to expect in a world class ski resort town. Also, Steamboat Springs lays claim to sending more athletes to the Olympics than any other city with many of them getting their start at the Howelson Hill Ski Area in downtown Steamboat Springs.
The Steamboat Resort is actually a complete mountain range: Mount Werner, Sunshine Peak, Storm Peak, Thunderhead Peak, Pioneer Ridge and Christie Peak. 2,965 acres (1200 hectares) of permitted terrain offer a diversity of trails for all levels of ability. Gladed areas of Pioneer Ridge, Sunshine and Storm Peak are Steamboat's particular claim to fame, with legendary Champagne Powder® snow in the trees for the most avid powder hounds. Add these two venues together and the scene is set for OutBoard 2012 to be one fabulous event.
Transportation
Steamboat Springs is served by the Hayden (HDN) regional airport with daily flights on United, Continental, Delta, Frontier, and American Airlines.
For those in the Denver area or flying into Denver, Steamboat Springs is an easy 2.5-3 hour drive from Denver with breath taking views along the way.
Ground transfers are available at a discounted rate from both Denver and Hayden airports.
